2009 Nomination Criteria & Materials

Why the Herb Wegner Memorial Awards?

In 1988 the National Credit Union Foundation created the Herb Wegner Memorial Award to recognize leaders of the credit union movement, who like Herb Wegner, have worked
to develop new frontiers through tireless effort, vision, and dedication.

The Foundation recognizes nominees in the categories of Individual Achievement, Outstanding Organization or Program, and Lifetime Achievement, for accomplishments that assist in the Foundation’s mission of promoting consumer financial independence through credit unions. It is our belief that visionaries such as Herb Wegner and our past award recipients are vital to continuing new frontiers that ultimately promote our mission and bring financial independence to consumers throughout the world.
